Crash Forces Closure of 405 Freeway in Fountain Valley

The California Highway Patrol has issued a SIG alert following a crash on the 405 Freeway in Fountain Valley involving a truck carrying pool chemicals.

Two other vehicles may be involved, according to initial CHP reports. The crash happened near Brookhurst Street. It was reported at 1:54 a.m., according to CHP records.

A hazardous material team had been called to the scene. All lanes of the freeway had been shut down for a time, according to the CHP. But by 2:30 a.m. officers reported the carpool lane was opened, officials wrote.
