Driver Arrested in Car vs. House Hit-and-run

The accident occurred early Monday morning at the corner of Ellis Avenue and Tamarind Street.

Fountain Valley police have arrested a Camp Pendleton man in connection with the on Ellis avenue that ended with the driver's car smashing through the outside wall of a house and hitting the house.

Nicholas Brady Smith, 21, was arrested by Fountain Valley police detectives Monday on suspicion of felony hit and run. According to police, the accident occurred just after 2:30 a.m., at the corner of Ellis Avenue and Tamarind Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a Honda S2000 that had collided with the block wall of a house and then came to rest against the house.

Smith was booked into the Orange County Jail, where he is still in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.
