Find Suspected Drug Dealers Who Stole Your iPhone? There's an App for That

An Anaheim couple was arrested after the victim tracked they phone they allegedly stole from her using a mobile app.

A man and woman from Anaheim were arrested April 19 by Fountain Valley police when the owner of the iPhone they allegedly stole was able to track them using one of the phone's mobile apps.

Todd William Hosey, 46, and Julie Ann Norris, 44, were arrested on suspicion of various theft and drug charges, and Hosey was also arrested on on suspicion of a probation violation.

According to police, the victim lost track of her iPhone while shopping on the 16000 block of Brookhurst Street, and suspected that a nearby couple might have stolen it. She activated a mobile app that allowed her to track the phone's location, which led officers to the rec center and sports park, where the victim identified Hosey and Norris as the same couple she had seen in the store.

Hosey ran through the park, but he and Norris were eventually arrested. Officers found a large quantity of prescription drugs for which neither of the suspects had a prescrption. They also found a large amount of cash and other evidence to indicate the couple were selling the pills.
