Fountain Valley: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Here's how to properly dispose of those unwanted, unused and expired medications properly.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — It's that time of year again. Bring your unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications to a drug collection center near you. In Los Alamitos, residents are advised to bring their prescription drugs Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McAuliffe Middle School Cerritos Parking Lot.
The Los Alamitos Unified School District and LAEF have proudly partnered with the Los Alamitos Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration in this effort.
"Turn in your expired, unused/unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for disposal. Liquid medications will be collected. Turn in your expired, unused/unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for disposal. All expired, unused/unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medications or supplements can be dropped off for appropriate disposal with no questions asked. Liquid medications will be collected," they said.

Other locations across Orange County include Anaheim, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Rossmoor, San Juan Capistrano and Yorba Linda, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The National Prescription Medication Take Back Day will take place Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The collection locations serve the cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, Villa Park, Yorba Linda as well as the unincorporated communities of Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Los Flores, Rossmoor and Wagon Wheel, the OCSD said.
Please do not bring sharps to this collection, they said. The event will be held rain or shine.
