Fountain Valley's Monday Essentials: New Police Officer, Spinnng DJs, Embezzlement
Here's a rundown of the important and interesting Fountain Valley news and events for the coming week.

- Fountain Valley streets will presumably be a little safer with new police officer Mitchell Martinez patrolling -- the Fountain Valley Police Department just hired him and will swear him in Tuesday. Got an itch to put on a badge yourself? The department is still hiring.
- Also in the news is a guilty plea by a Fountain Valley rare car dealer. John Calicchio, the owner of now-defunct EuroMasters Classic Cars, will serve more than a year in jail or home confinement for embezzling nearly $178,000 from his clients.
- The weather this week in Fountain Valley and much of Orange County is predicted to be around 75 degrees and somewhat gloomy. Check out the forecast here.
- Need somewhere to haul the toddlers for a couple hours? Come to storytime at the Fountain Valley Branch Library Wednesday. It starts at 10:30 a.m.
- And if you're looking for a hip, cheap place to take a date this weekend, check out Dr. Freecloud's Record Shoppe on Brookhurst Street Sunday. DJs who specialize in various dance genres will be spinning all-vinyl beats starting at noon. Free food and drinks, too.
