Free E-Waste Recyling at Fountain Valley City Hall

City ask residents to bring televisions, PC systems, laptops, monitors, home entertainment systems, cell phones, copiers, printers, fax machines, keyboards, DVD and VCR players, audio devices, and loose wires to the recycling spot on Saturday.

Fountain Valley's Community Foundation today is hosting an electronic waste (e-waste) collection event for local citizens to drop off their unwanted electronic items.

The event will take place in the parking lot behind Fountain Valley City Hall, 0200 Slater Ave., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free service offered to the community to properly dispose of their e-waste and help divert waste from landfills.

Hundreds of millions of retired computers, cell phones, and electronics sit idle or are discarded by Americans every year, eventually contributing to landfill waste. Toxic substances like lead, cadmium, and mercury that are commonly used in these products can contaminate the land, water, and air.
