George Clooney 50s Era Film Transforms Fullerton Neighborhood to Suburbicon
An Orange County neighborhood was transformed this week into the 1950s era Suburbicon in the comedic thriller. Fullerton residents loved it.

FULLERTON, CA — What does it take to transform Orange County into Suburbicon? Classic cars, fresh coats of paint on 50s era houses and a star studded cast seen filming on an October weekend.
The new Paramount Pictures, George Clooney directed film, starring Matt Damon and Julienne Moore, among others, is shooting this month in Orange County in a quiet neighborhood of Fullerton, transformed into the 1950s.
“George has assembled a stellar project, starting with (Joel and Ethan Cohen's) great script, a wildly talented cast lead by Matt and Julianne, and an extraordinary producing team with George, Grant, Joel and Teddy," Brad Grey, Paramount Pictures Chairman & CEO, said. "We are both proud and excited to be releasing ‘Suburbicon’ in the U.S. and look forward to this picture with great anticipation.”

IMDB describes the new crime mystery as set in the fictional, sleepy family town of Suburbicon during the 1950s.
"The best and worst of humanity is hilariously reflected through the deeds of seemingly ordinary people," the IMDB website states. "When a home invasion turns deadly, a picture-perfect family turns to blackmail, revenge and betrayal."

Extras dressed in 50s and shades reminiscent of the bygone time period walked back and forth down Fullerton sidewalks while the behind the scenes team, including Clooney, did their work. The video, captured by Orange County resident Dennis Baloy shows the excitement of having filming going on in the neighborhood.

According to Baloy, the neighborhood received bright fresh paint, painted green lawns as moderate compensation for the filming.
The Fullerton neighborhood will represent a small Pennsylvania town "Suburbicon" in the film, however the era of post-war housing works regardless of state with the power of movie magic.

Once the crews rolled out and the classic cars were moved off the Fullerton streets, the neighborhood remained fresh and new with bright paint, green lawns and much to talk about over the back fence.
Great fun for all in the city of Fullerton, with a star sighting or two for good measure.
