Is Guardians Worth The Wait? Guests Line Up At New Disney California Adventure Attraction

DISNEYLAND, CA — When you arrive at Disney California Adventure, guests are veering left, leaving Cars Land for a later time and staking their claim in line for Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout! Why? Because it's like nothing you've ever seen or experienced before.

When you arrive at The Collector's Fortress, you'll step into the story line, peruse the collection as a "Terran" (that's citizen of Earth to you and me), and even feel like you're interacting with the stars from the popular Guardians of the Galaxy film series.

This irreverent and hilarious ride is both an adrenaline jolt and a journey of sights and sounds. Music inspired by the films will transport riders, just as the soundtrack for the main lobby before you get on the ride will hearken to the Marvel feature films, directed by James Dunn and composed by Tyler Bates.

Marvel, music and Disney Imagineers worked hand in hand to make this latest attraction not just possible but also completely tangible.

Music that will play on the ride, changing the experience for each tune, include:

• Pat Benatar: "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"
• Parliament: "Give Up The Funk"
• The Jackson 5: "I Want You Back"
• The Edgar Winter Group: "Free Ride"
• Elvis Presley: "Burning Love"

Once inside, take a look for some of the intricacies that give you that Disney insider feel:

• In the lobby, look for video of the Collector's office, featuring a maquette of the ghost dog from Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Park.
• As you wait for your Gantry Lift, look for characters from Disneyland Park's Matterhorn ride.
• Rest assured, Hidden Mickeys are inside the structure. Let us know when and if you see them.
