Sen. Harman Gets Perfect Rating from Businesses Group
The nationwide nonprofit evaluates legislators' voting records as they pertain to helping small businesses.

Republican State Sen. Tom Harman announced Wednesday that he received a 100 percent score from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.Â
"Small and independent businesses are the backbone of our economy," said Harman, whose district includes Fountain Valley. "I am particularly pleased to know that my voting record is in step with the priorities of these businesses."
NFIB represents more than 20,000 small businesses in California. Its legislative voting record is developed by selecting key bills that impact small businesses and tracking them through the legislative process. According to the NFIB, the voting record is compiled "to provide a critical evaluation of a legislator’s attitude toward small businesses."

"If California doesn’t get with the program, and make itself more hospitable to business, we will continue to lag behind the rest of the nation in our economic recovery," Harman said. "Californians need jobs. Small business is ground zero in this effort. The legislature should have no higher priority than putting people back to work. Supporting economic policies that help businesses hire the unemployed is a must."
