Holiday Trash Collection Schedule

Christmas Day: In observance of the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 25, trash collection will be moved back one day. Wednesday’s trash collection will be on Thursday, December 26, Thursday’s collection will be on Friday, December 27, Friday’s collection will be on Saturday, December 28.

New Year’s Day: In observance of New Year on Wednesday January 1, trash collection will be moved back one day. Wednesday’s trash collection will be on Thursday, January 2, Thursday’s collection will be on Friday, January 3, Friday’s collection will be on Saturday, January 4.

Please remember to have your trash cans out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. the day of your collection. For additional information please visit the City’s website at www.fountainvalley.org.

Holiday Street Sweeping Schedule

Christmas Day: Street sweeping for Wednesday, December 25 will move to Thursday, December 26, and Thursday’s street sweeping will be on Friday, December 27, and Friday’s will move to Tuesday, December 31.

New Year’s Day: Street sweeping for Wednesday January 1 will move to Thursday, January 2, Thursday’s will move to Friday, January 3, and Friday’s will move to Tuesday, January 7.

Please have vehicles and trash cans off the street to allow the street sweeper to clean your street. For additional information please visit the City’s website at www.fountainvalley.org.

Christmas Tree and Cardboard Recycling

From December 26 through January 12, Republic Services will recycle non-artificial Christmas trees placed at the curb for collection. Collected trees are shredded into ground cover material and mulch to avoid disposal at the landfill. Trees taller than 6 feet should be cut in half and have all lights and ornaments removed. Place trees and cardboard next to your containers on your trash collection day. Flocked trees can’t be recycled and need to be cut into smaller pieces and placed in the trash.
