James Walter Stephen, Fountain Valley Veteran, Remembered

James Walter Stephen was much beloved by his family and friends. The Marine Corps veteran passed away on April 21 at the age of 91.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — James Walter Stephen, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2020 at his home in Fountain Valley, CA.

He was born on November 3, 1928 in Minnesota. He met and married his wife, Kazuko, while he was stationed in Japan. They were married for 48 blissful years.

James proudly served his country in the Marine Corps for twenty years, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He served in China, Korea, Japan, and Germany.

James was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his daughter Lorraine, granddaughter Jennifer and his great grandchildren Kayla and Ashley.

James devoted himself to serving the Lord and his beloved Calvary Baptist Church.

"He influenced a lot of lives over the years and he will be missed immensely," his granddaughter Jennifer said.

A memorial service will be planned following the coronavirus shutdown, according to the family.
