Local Seniors Recognized for Volunteer Efforts

Eileen O'Brien and Mary Lum of Fountain Valley received the Orange County Senior Citizen Advisory Council's Volunteer Recognition Award for their work with seniors at The Center at Founders Village.

O'Brien has been a volunteer at the Center since it opened. After hearing about the opening of a new senior center, she became interested in volunteering at
The Center at Founders Village. Now, seven years later, Eileen is still an integral part of the volunteer community at the senior center. O' Brien helps at the reception desk and is a hostess for the FV Traveling Friends group.

Lum is a regular volunteer at The Center at Founders Villages’ luncheons, special events and just about any event that volunteers are needed. When she's not voluneering at the center, she gives rides to other seniors who aren't able to get around town on their own.
