OC Woman Wins Tinker Bell Half Marathon

An Orange County woman won the fifth annual Tinker Bell Half Marathon by nearly four minutes.

ANAHEIM, CA - Jen Serna of Fullerton won today's fifth annual woman- focused Tinker Bell Half Marathon through the Disneyland Resort and streets of Anaheim Sunday by nearly four minutes while Chris Trebilcock of Tampa, Florida was the men's winner.

The 31-year-old Serna completed the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 25 minutes, 49 seconds. The runner-up was Kellie Nickerson, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1:29:41. Nickerson won the inaugural race in 2012. Jaime Dawes of Rio Rancho, New Mexico was third in 1:30:19.

The 27-year-old Trebilcock won in 1:20:45. Michael Flowers of Porter Ranch was second in 1:21:33 and Luke Ball of Water Valley, Alberta was third in 1:23:21.

The course began on Disneyland Drive, passed under the Downtown Disney District, then went through Disney California Adventure. The runners ran on Hollywood Boulevard and Route 66 and went past Paradise Bay. They then ran on Disneyland's Main Street USA, passing Pixie Hollow and running around the Rivers of America attraction.

The course then cut through Downtown Disney by the Disneyland Hotel and went through downtown Anaheim, onto the Anaheim Center Street Promenade, past the Anaheim Ice skating rink and City Hall, concluding near Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.
