Senator Janet Nguyen Provides Residents With Free Flu Shots

(Garden Grove, CA) On Sunday September 24th and Wednesday September 27th, Senator Janet Nguyen hosted free flu vaccination events for the community. Thanks to these events, more than 500 residents, among them children, adults and seniors, were able to protect themselves against the potential threat of the flu virus. The first event was held at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Westminster from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. while the second event was hosted at Senator Janet Nguyen’s District Office in Garden Grove from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“By hosting events in the community and in my District Office, my goal is to make flu vaccinations more accessible,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “There are many community members who don’t have access to transportation, health insurance or who simply need a more convenient way to get their flu shots so these events serve as a great alternative.”

During the two events, volunteers administered flu shots at no cost to attendees. The services provided were made possible through a partnership with the California Department of Health, St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers, the Chapman University School of Pharmacy, Concorde College, Southland Integrated Services, Inc. and Lestonnac Free Clinic.

“As a champion of preventative care, I am proud to partner with the California Department of Health to bring direct services to the community,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “Preventative flu vaccines are especially important to children and the elderly. I will be hosting at least two more free flu vaccination events and encourage you to let your family, friends and neighbors know about these upcoming opportunities.”

To date, the following free flu vaccination sites have been confirmed:

• Saturday, October 28th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Central-West County Health Expo at Concorde Career College at 12951 Euclid St, Garden Grove, CA 92840.
• Sunday, October 29th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Central-West County Health Expo at Concorde Career College at 12951 Euclid St, Garden Grove, CA 92840.
