Summerfest 2012 Food and Fun Lineup Primed and Ready
Fountain Valley's annual blowout might be a month away, but a full slate of eats and entertainment is sure to have anticipation at an all-time high.
It's just about a month until Summerfest 2012, and the Fountain Valley's annual celebration at the is as packed as ever with great food, free entertainment and fun for the whole family.
Presale vouchers for the festival's great assortment of thrill rides are already on sale, and adrenaline junkies can save $7 if they buy now. The vouchers normally sell for $22, but those who buy early can get them for $15. They can be bought with a credit card online from the Summerfest website, or at the Recreation Center with cash only.
Summerfest officially kicks off Thursday night, June 7, with the festival's annual preview night. All the carnival rides will be $1, and foodies can stuff themselves with treats from six gourmet food trucks:

Preview night will also feature live music, and the beer and margarita garden will be open.
After the first full night of the festival on Friday, the weekend will kick off Saturday with the Fountain Valley Classic Car and Truck Show. Sunday has been tapped as Dog Day Afternoon, and fetival patrons are welcome to bring their dogs to enjoy plenty of canine fun, including small dog races, dog adoptions, disc dog competition and an agilit course.

As always the weekend will be packed with plenty of free live entertainment. Friday night will be headlined by Beatles tribute band Abbey Road, Saturday will feature David and Divine, and in Sunday's finale, local favorites The Originalites will take the stage. As always, the annual battle of the bands will take place throughout the weekend, wrapping up with the announcement of the winner on Sunday afternoon.
