17-Year-Old Boy Gunned Down In Fremont

Police have recovered the gun, and have interviewed a man and juvenile about the crime.

FREMONT, CA — Police in Fremont have identified two suspects in Saturday's fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in the 300 block of Lemarc Street in the Mission San Jose district, officers said Sunday night.

One man and a juvenile male have been released by police pending further investigation by police and results of a report by the Alameda County Coroner. Once that is finished, police said, the case will likely be reviewed by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

Fremont police did not release the subjects' names, or the name of the juvenile victim.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Fremont police responded to the Lemarc street address on the report of a shooting there. The 17-year-old victim was found to have suffered at least one gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A replica firearm was found near the victim when officers arrived.

Detectives identified the two suspects and interviewed them. Police said it appeared they had a personal dispute with the victim.
