San Jose, CA — Recently, the Youth International Business Initiative (YIBI) held a ceremony to celebrate their 2018 Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipients.
As an introduction to the ceremony, long time members like Chloe Chan, Max Chou, and Andrew Zhong shared their YIBI experiences. Junior Max Chou recalls, “my favorite memory, besides mentoring at [YBLT] camps, is when we hosted the event with the Korean students… we got to share our business knowledge, make new friends, and gain insight on students’ lives outside the US…”

Moving on to the main ceremony, 22 members, ranging from middle to high school, received bronze, silver, and gold medals to commemorate their dedicated service to not only YIBI but also the rest of the community. Most of the recipients had over 100 hours on track, while some even had over 250.
Additionally, 8 special members received a certificate of recognition from Senator Glazer of District 7 as 2018 YIBI Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Ambassadors. These 8 members, all juniors and seniors in high school, showed exceptional dedication to YIBI for over two years. In addition to mentoring multiple teams and leading them to grand conferences and other events, they exemplified remarkable leadership and business skills, serving as role models to younger members.
