38-Table Billiard Parlor and Sports Bar Proposed for City

Fremont City Council was scheduled Tuesday to consider a recommendation from the planning commission to allow pool halls, bowling alleys, ping pong and other similar sports in a specific commercial area.

Amending the zoning code to include indoor recreation activities in the regional commercial district would pave the way for a billiard parlor proposed for the city. California Billiard Club wants to put a 38-table pool hall with snooker tables, foosball and a sports bar in an existing 14,600-square feet retail space in the  40000 block of Albrae Street. With a capacity of nearly 300, the billiard parlor would employ 12 people, according to the applicants.

According to California Billiard Club, the parlor aims to be an upscale venue, hosting world-class billiard events attracting top players.
