Babysitter Arrested on Suspicion of DUI, Child Endangerment

Andrea Briscoe, 36, allegedly drove drunk and crashed into two cars while babysitting an infant, police said.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested last Thursday for allegedly driving drunk, running a red light and crashing into another vehicle — while babysitting an infant, police said.

According to the Fremont Police Department, officers responded to the Nov. 7 accident at 9:49 a.m. after the woman ran a red light while driving northbound on Blacow Road at Stevenson Boulevard and struck another car.

The woman — identified as 39-year-old Andrea Briscoe — was babysitting an infant who was strapped in a passenger seat using a seat belt and not a car seat, police said.

Investigators learned that Briscoe had also rear-ended another car on Blacow Road prior to the accident.

Earlier that morning, Briscoe had also dropped off a young woman at Robertson High School. The woman ran to the office and reported that Briscoe was too drunk to drive, according to police.
