Burglars Break Into Home In Fremont Gated Community: Police

Police are investigating a burglary in a gated community in Fremont's Mission San Jose district, authorities said.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont police investigating a burglary Thursday in a gated community in the Mission San Jose district are appealing to the community for assistance.

The in-progress burglary was reported about 6:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Monticello Terrace, described as "in a gated community on a remote road that sits just north of Ohlone College."

Officers found a shattered rear door the homeowner reported that several items of value were missing.

A search of the area and adjacent hillside was conducted with the help of East Bay Regional Park District police, drones and two K9s. Police say the burglars "likely parked in a remote area and then walked/hiked to the residence."
