Burglary Suspect Caught on Video Arrested
Richard Andres Banuelos, 28, a Fremont transient, was arrested less than 24 hours after videos of him were posted online.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at approximately 2:30 p.m., we released video taken from a surveillance system during a residential burglary in the Glenmoor neighborhood. The video showed a brazen suspect rummaging through the personal belongings of one of our community members. Fremont Police Detectives hoped that due to the high quality video someone in our community would recognize the suspect.Â
Almost immediately after releasing the video, our phones began to ring. By early today, more than a dozen tips had been received leading us to the suspect Richard Andres Banuelos, a 28 year old adult male, Fremont transient. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Detectives located and arrested Banuelos at the Fremont Islander Motel.  He was later booked at the Fremont Jail for residential burglary.Â
We truly appreciate all of the tips we received and the video images that made this all possible. We are grateful for the partnership we have with the Fremont community and together we will continue to make it difficult for people to commit crimes in our town.Â
