City of Fremont to Add Electric Cars to Fleet

The City of Fremont will install two electric car charging stations at City Hall and add two electric cars to their fleet.

With all of Fremont’s innovation — and Tesla Motors’ hot streak — it’s only fitting that the City of Fremont is among the first Bay Area governments to add electric cars to its fleet and install charging stations.

According to The Argus, the City was one of 10 Bay Area cities recently awarded a $52,000 grant by the U.S. Department of Transportation to purchase the vehicles and install two charging stations.

The City plans to buy the vehicles early next year, with a charging station installed next at City Hall and the other installed at Fremont’s Development Services Center, located at 39550 Liberty St.
