All Lanes Open: Death Probe On I-880 At Fremont, Newark Border

FREMONT, CA — A person was pronounced dead after jumping or falling from the Thornton Avenue overpass onto southbound Interstate Highway 880 Tuesday afternoon, Fremont police said.

The two left lanes of the interstate were closed for hours during the Wednesday evening commute. Police sent an all-clear advisory just before 6 p.m.

The emergency started at 3:46 p.m.
