Fremont Artist Paints Vibrant Mural
She's one of 20 artists chosen for the major project.
FREMONT, CA — Fremont artist Bhavna Misra has completed a mural at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds in San Jose. She's one of 20 artists chosen to complete the Gateway Mural Project celebrating each of Santa Clara County’s 15 cities.
Misra's mural represents the city of Los Gatos. "She chose to paint a scene of the local flora and fauna of Los Gatos in the backdrop of rolling hills surrounding Lexington reservoir," according to a release about the mural. "California poppies add (a) warm burst of color to (an) otherwise cool color palette often used by the artist. She painted a small kitten in the corner as a symbol to the city. "
The artist was recommended by the city of Los Gatos, where she has worked in the past. The mural was done in house paints and acrylics. The finished panel is about 20 ft by 15 ft.
