Fremont Chess Camps Free All Summer
Free chess camps will be held online June 14-18, July 12-16 and August 9-13 daily from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time.

For nearly a quarter century, prominent Fremont chess coach Chris Torres has organized summer chess camps that have paved the way for the success of thousands of children. Last year, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Chris Torres made his popular weeklong summer chess camp tuition free. During that week, Chris Torres made history by teaching over 1,000 young participants the valuable tools and skills needed to excel as a chess player. Building on last year’s success, Chris Torres will be tripling his efforts this summer by running three completely free weeklong summer chess camps. Theses tuition free chess camps will be held online during the weeks of June 14-18, July 12-16 and August 9-13. During each camp, Chris Torres will lead chess players of all ages through skill level specific chess activities daily from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time. All children who complete the camp will receive a certificate and special prizes will also be awarded for top performers in different categories.
Since 1998, Chris Torres has provided world class instruction to most talented young chess minds in Northern California. As a respected mentor in the Bay Area chess scene, Chris Torres has seen first hand how the past couple of years have been very difficult time for many Fremont families and more than ever, children will benefit from chess activities that give them a recess from real life stress while enhancing their confidence. Because of this, Chris Torres is offering his now world famous online summer chess camps free of charge (a $250 value) to any family that applies. Chris Torres encourages individuals of all ages to learn chess during these summer chess camps but only children under the age of 18 will be eligible for the special chess awards and prizes.
To register for any one, two or all three of these summer chess camps, interested parties only need to fill out a quick entry form on Chris’ Daily Chess Musings website, (https://dailychessmusings.com). While there, Chris recommends jump starting the learning process by perusing through the thousands of chess lessons that are freely available on Daily Chess Musings. In addition, to this treasure trove of chess knowledge, Chris Torres also hosts free chess tournaments every weekend, a free weekly club and low cost United States Chess Federation rated events that are all easily accessed through his Daily Chess Musings website.
