FREMONT, CA — The Contra Costa County coroner's office confirmed the identity Monday of a Fremont man who died Saturday from injuries suffered in a solo-vehicle crash in Hercules.
Daniel Coco, 44, suffered major injuries at about 12:40 p.m. Saturday after his pickup truck drove off eastbound Interstate Highway 80 near state Highway 4 into a field near the interchange and overturned.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Coco was the vehicle's only occupant.

First responders administered CPR and live-saving procedures to Coco at the scene of the crash before he was taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, where he later died.
