Fremont Man Who Died In Crash Identified

His Ninja motorcycle hit the back of a car that had stopped in traffic.

FREMONT, CA — A 20-year-old motorcyclist who died at a hospital in San Jose after a crash on Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont on Thursday morning has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Zachary Morgan, a resident of Fremont.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. Thursday on southbound Highway 680 north of Mission Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Morgan was riding a white 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle behind a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that slowed down due to stopped traffic ahead. CHP officials said Morgan was traveling at an unsafe speed and was unable to stop in time, colliding with the Impala. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries there.

The Impala driver was uninjured in the collision, according to the CHP.
