Fremont Man Wins $1,000 a Week for 25 Years from Lotto Scratcher

A Fremont man will accrue more than $1 million over the next 25 years thanks to a winning scratch ticket he purchased during a gas stop, according to the California Lottery.
Gaurav Sharma, 34, was alerted by his 8-year-old son that the warning light the fuel gauge was lit and he decided to pull into a gas station to fill up his gas tank, according to lottery officials.
After pumping his gas, Sharma had to go inside the Circle K, at 34867 Ardenwood Blvd., to collect his receipt. While inside, he purchased a "Lucky for Life" scratch ticket, lottery officials said.
In his first scratch, the ticket indicated Sharma would receive $1,000 a week for 25 years. In total, Sharma will receive $1.3 million, collecting money until 2038.
