Fremont Police Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect
A Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of committing multiple crimes including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
FREMONT, CA — Police in Fremont on Thursday arrested a man in connection with attempted murder and several other crimes stemming from a shooting on Tuesday.
Gerardo Elizondo, 26, of Hayward, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, carjacking, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in public and on outstanding warrants, according to the Fremont Police Department.
On Tuesday, officers responded to the 6000 block of Milano Terrace on a report of a person who had been shot.

The victim told police he had an argument with the suspect, and the suspect shot him and stole his rented Cadillac Escalade.
The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

On Thursday, investigators located the stolen vehicle in Hayward and began surveying the vehicle.
When a subject got in the vehicle, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop, and the man, identified as Elizondo, fled from the vehicle and led officers on a foot pursuit.
When he was apprehended, Elizondo was found in possession of a loaded firearm.
