Serial Vehicle Burglar Arrested: Fremont Police
The Fremont resident has been linked to cases in November and January.
FREMONT, CA — Police in Fremont have arrested a man in connection with several recent area vehicle burglaries.
Jeremy Neist, 39, of Fremont, was responsible for vehicle burglaries on Nov. 30, Jan. 6 and Jan. 21, according to the Fremont Police Department.
On Nov. 30, a victim reported his vehicle had been burglarized in a parking lot in the 3900 block of Washington Boulevard.

Investigators identified Neist as a suspect in the burglary, and during a probation search of his home, police found stolen property from the burglary. He was arrested on Dec. 8 on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
He was later released from custody.

On Jan. 6, a victim reported his vehicle was burglarized in the parking lot of Dale's Hardware store. Using video surveillance, police were able to identify Neist as the suspect in that burglary.
On Jan. 21, detectives were conducting surveillance on Neist when they saw him burglarize another vehicle in the parking lot of Dale's Hardware.
He was arrested last week in a Walmart parking lot off Albrae Street in connection with the burglaries, and was released on bail the following day.
In a release, police said, "Neist has numerous prior arrests for multiple incidents of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of stolen vehicles, identity theft, resisting arrest, possession of drugs, and violating parole."
Police said he has court dates scheduled for the burglaries for which he is charged.
