Man Tries to Lure Child into Van Near Elementary School

A man tried to lure a child into his van as she walked home from a local elementary school Wednesday, according to police.

A citizen flagged down an officer and reported the incident at around 1 p.m. A parent of the child also called 911 to report a man trying to get his daughter inside a van near Millard Elementary School, located at 5200 Valpey Park Ave.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult in his late 30s with slick black hair and a small mustache.

He was seen driving a light blue van with logos or stickers on the driver’s side, possibly with double doors.

Multiple police units responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
