Memorial Service For Retired Fremont Fire Chief
A family funeral is planned, followed a week later by the public memorial service.

FREMONT, CA — A public memorial service has been scheduled for Retired Fremont Fire Chief and Planning Commissioner Daniel T. Lydon, who passed away on March 18, 2019, according to the fire department. It will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m., at Harbor Light Church, 4760 Thornton Ave., Fremont,94536.
A separate family visitation and mass will be held on March 30 at St. Joseph's Church.
Chief Lydon joined the Fremont Fire Department as a firefighter on March 15, 1963. He was promoted to Fire Chief on March 16, 1987. Upon retirement from the Fire Department, he was appointed to the Fremont Planning Commission.

Lydon is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia Lydon, his children Bridget McGrath, Daniel Lydon, Kevin Lydon, Margaret Lydon, Michael Lydon, and five grandchildren.
