Motorcyclist Injured in Accident With Patrol Car Now in Stable Collision

The motorcyclist was also a police employee. Because the crash involved two Fremont police employees, Newark police are leading the investigation.

The 29-year-old female motorcyclist is also a Fremont police employee.

The accident occurred when the off-duty police employee was driving her motorcycle northbound on Fremont Boulevard at around 3:55 p.m. A police patrol car collided with her motorcycle, and her motorcycle crashed into a civilian truck just north of Thornton Avenue, the Argus reports.

The woman was thrown five feet from her motorcycle and spent most of the weekend in intensive care before being upgraded to stable condition on Monday, the Argus reports.

The police officer and driver of the truck were not injured.

Investigators were still trying to determine the sequence of events when the Argus reported on the motorcyclist’s condition Tuesday.

Because two police employees were involved in the accident, Newark police are taking the lead on the investigation with support from Union City.
