New Hours at Centerville and Niles Libraries
Changes take effect on July 1 and July 7. Visit the library's website for more information.

From Alameda County Library: Alameda County Library is pleased to announce new hours and days of operation at the Centerville and Niles Libraries to meet the growing needs of Fremont residents.
Beginning on July 1, 2017, the Centerville Library will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in addition to its current schedule – Tuesdays 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Funding provided by the City of Fremont enables the Library to add hours of service on Saturdays.
Beginning on July 7, 2017, the Niles Library will be open on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The decision to change its day of operation from Tuesday to Friday was made after patrons responded through a survey that they would use the Library more or the same amount if its hours changed. The change will allow the Fremont Neighborhood Libraries (Centerville, Irvington, and Niles Libraries) to operate at full staffing for five consecutive days of the week.
“We are so grateful to the City of Fremont for making this funding commitment to library services and to the Fremont Library Advisory Commission for their leadership and support to make this possible,” said Cindy Chadwick, County Librarian.
Join the Centerville and Niles Libraries for the following events to celebrate these new changes:
- A performance by magician Pete G. Magic on Saturday, July 22, 2017, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Centerville Library.
- A performance by Magician and Balloon Artist Mr. Shap on Friday, July 7, 2017, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Niles Library.
