Northern California Sees Record Low Temperatures

Cold temperatures will continue through Sunday.

At least seven places in the San Francisco and Monterey bay areas reported record low temperatures Saturday, National Weather Service officials said. In Livermore, the temperature dropped to 27 degrees, two degrees lower than the record set in 1987.

In Half Moon Bay, the low was 28 degrees or five degrees lower than the record set last year.

The low in Napa was also 28 degrees or two degrees lower that the previous record set in 1919.

The low in Salinas was 29 degrees, which snapped the previous record of 31 degrees set in 1982.

At the Oakland International Airport the temperature dropped to 33 degrees, breaking the old record of 36 degrees set in 2015.

At Moffett Field and in Monterey the lows were 32 and 35 degrees, both two degrees lower than the earlier records.

Sunday will be sunny in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs will be in the upper 50s. West winds will be between 10 and 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight there will be a chance of rain in the evening. Lows will be in the upper 40s. West winds will be between 10 and 20 mph.

Monday will be breezy with rain likely in the morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Northwest winds will be between 10 and 20 mph, increasing to 20 to 30 mph winds in the
afternoon.
