Officials Break Ground at Thermo Fischer Scientific's New Site

A groundbreaking was held last week to symbolize that start of construction of a Fremont plant

City and business leaders gathered last week to break ground at a 22-acre plot of land that will be occupied by a big-banking scientific instrument manufacturing company.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. will build a new facility on a property near the Tesla Plant in Fremont’s Warm Spring district, close to Mission Boulevard and the Interstate 880 section.

The company currently leases three facilities, according to a previous report. Those three locations are within two miles of the site where the new facility will be build.
