HERS Breast Cancer Foundation's festive and inspiring 12th Annual People with Purpose Gala will take place Saturday, May 8, 2021 with a new look and feel -- the nonprofit is trading its traditional "pink tie" theme for Pink Pajamas!

"We decided to try something completely different and fun since we'll be virtual this year," shared HERS Executive Director Tina Fernandez Steckler, adding that HERS volunteer Sharon Yap suggested the theme. Gala guests traditionally wear "pink tie" but given 2021's virtual format, pajamas (or their favorite lounge wear) are the suggested attire when joining the fun via HERS Breast Cancer Foundation's YouTube channel.

Each registered guest will receive, by mail, a Pink Pajama Party Box filled with delicious treats and items to help guests relax and feel pampered, including a Soi Co. soy candle, pink satin sleep mask, Rosé Jelly Belly jelly beans, beauty products, a cocktail/mocktail kit, and more!

Registered guests will receive a special code to join the event Saturday, May 8th from 7-8 pm via YouTube and will also be automatically entered to win a 65" LG Smart TV ($500 value), a drawing sponsored by HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Board members. The winner of the TV will be announced at the conclusion of the one-hour program. The TV must be picked up from the nonprofit's Fremont office. Registrants are also encouraged to purchase one (or more!) $20 door prize tickets for a chance to win a pair of AirPods Pro.

The one-hour event will feature a live auction and a fund-a-need segment to benefit HERS Assistance Programs which ensure under-served patients access to to post-surgical products and fitting services. HERS is on track this year to provide well over $120,000 in products to patients in need and its work is made possible by donations and fundraising events.

Although guests won't be able to see one another given the YouTube format, selfies are encouraged! Guests should tag HERS on Facebook and Instagram and be sure to use the hashtag #PinkPajamaParty.
