Police, Coroner Investigate Fremont Death

A decomposed body was found by horseback riders, according to police.

FREMONT, CA — The Fremont Police Department and the Alameda County Coroner's Office are investigating a death discovered over the weekend.

At around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, police were called about a decomposed body that had been found by two men riding horses.

The body was on a hillside in the area of Canyon Heights Drive.

There was no identification on the body, and the cause of death was not immediately apparent.

The Alameda County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death and, hopefully, to help ID the person
