Police Need Help Finding Fremont Hit-And-Run Driver
Police have few clues in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian severely injured Friday evening and are asking the public for help.
FREMONT, CA — Police have few clues in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian severely injured Friday evening and are asking the public for assistance.
The 55-year-old victim, described by police as a transient, was struck while crossing Las Palmas Avenue at San Moreno Place at 6:23 p.m. and suffered major injuries, police said. They said the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The driver fled on Las Palmas in the direction of Gomes Elementary School.

People in the area were unable to provide a description of the vehicle, but investigators believe it may have been a Jeep Cherokee based on parts found at the scene.
Police also believe the suspect vehicle has moderate front end damage. The color of the vehicle is unknown.
