Police Searching for Female Suspect in Multiple Bank Robberies

Investigators are working to identify a woman who robbed a bank in Menlo Park last week and who may be connected to other recent Bay Area bank robberies, a police spokeswoman said.

The suspect, who was described as a Hispanic or Pacific Islander woman in her mid 30s, walked into a U.S. Bank at 1105 El Camino Real at about 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Menlo Park police spokeswoman Nicole Acker said.

She presented a teller with a note demanding an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen and the teller complied, Acker said.

The suspect left the rear of the bank near Maloney Street and no one was injured, according to Acker.

The robber had dark hair in a ponytail and was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat, police said.

According to Acker, the suspect matched the description of a woman who robbed a Bank of the West branch in Menlo Park on Oct. 29.

In Fremont on Oct. 2, a woman with a similar description robbed the Patelco Credit Union in the 5100 block of Mowry Avenue, according to police.
