Teen Killed In I-880 Crash ID'd
The teen was transported to Stanford Medical Center, where he died from his injuries a short time later.
FREMONT, CA — A teenager who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont on Saturday evening has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 15-year-old Jovani Maldonado Garcia of Oakland.
Maldonado Garcia was in one of the two cars that collided on northbound Highway 880 between the Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard exit at about 6:35 p.m. Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Manuel Leal.
Maldonado Garcia was transported to Stanford Medical Center, where he died from his injuries a short time later.

Two other people also were injured in the collision but they survived.
