Heads up! Here are five events taking place this week that you don’t want to miss.

Receive a Teeth Cleaning for $50

Bay Smile Dental in Newark is offering a variety of promotions this month for Tri-City residents, including $50 teeth cleanings for adults and $60 teeth cleanings for children. The Newark dental office, located at 39736 Cedar Blvd., is also offering 50 percent discounts on various services for uninsured patients. See full details here.

Food Truck Fundraiser at Patterson Elementary

The Food Truck Mafia will roll to Patterson Elementary School, located at 35521 Cabrillo Dr., Tuesday night from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will be a fundraiser for the school, with 10 percent of sales going to science camp and science activities. 

Volunteer for Coastal Cleanup Day

Join the City of Fremont and volunteers throughout Alameda County for Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 21. During the annual event, volunteers help clean up rivers, creeks and beaches throughout the region. In Fremont, there are seven sites designated for Coastal Cleanup Day, including Laguna Creek and Mission Creek. Pre-registration is required for volunteers. To sign-up, click here.

International Day of Peace

Join others around the world this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lake Elizabeth for International Peace Day. People from all faiths will come together at the event, which will feature a testimony and plea for world peace, followed by a walk for peace around the lake. The event will be held at the Peace Pole, located behind the Kennedy Playground at the edge of Lake Elizabeth.

2nd Annual Free Niles Music Festival

If you love music -- or just old fashioned outdoors family-friendly fun -- then you don't want to miss the 2nd Annual Free Niles Music Festival this Sunday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Niles Town Plaza at 37592 Niles Blvd. in Fremont. The event will feature 25 live acts for 8 hours of music, along with kids games, food vendors and more.
