This Week: Whole Foods Edible Holidays Dinner; Crippsmas Place

Heads up! Here are five events taking place in and around Fremont this week that you don’t want to miss.

Fremont Chamber Holiday Mixer

Join the Fremont Chamber of Commerce at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 for their annual holiday mixer. The event will also serve as a toy drive. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy. The event will be held at the chamber office, located at 39488 Stevenson Pl., Ste, 100.

Edible Holidays Around the World

Join Wholes Foods Market Fremont, Edible East Bay and Edible Silicon Valley for a holiday feast from around the globe from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. The chef-curated, four-course meal will feature Mexican tamales, Indian/Fijian crab curry, Chinese sticky rice stuffing, along with traditional American beef roast and pies. The meal comes with two glasses of wine or beer. There will also be cooking demos. Tickets for the event are $25. To register for the event, click here.

LEAF Work Party

Join LEAF as they prepare their new community garden at the California Historical Nursery Park for the spring. Community members are invited to come out Saturday, Dec. 14 starting at 9 a.m. with their garden tools and have some fun while contributing to this great community cause. Volunteers can also receive community service credit through the project.

Niles Holiday Home Tour

Take a trip through historic Niles and explore their holiday light displays this Saturday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests can pick up maps at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum at 37417 Niles Blvd. and take the tour themselves. The event promotes the preservation of Niles' history. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of.

Crippsmas Place 2013

Don't miss this dazzling holiday light display with more than 70 north Fremont homes glowing with lights and unique plywood cut-outs of your favorite cartoon characters. Drive or explore on foot the neighborhoods of Nicolet Avenue and cul-de-sacs Nicolet Place, Asquith Place, Cripps Place, and Wellington Place. Donations will be accepted and will benefit six charities. Crippsmas Place kicks off this Saturday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. and runs through Saturday, Dec. 28.
