Three Sentenced in July 2012 Armed Robbery

Jesus Mora, 20, of Oakland; Michael Bryant, 20, of Fremont; and Armando Sandoval, 20, of Oakland were convicted of robbing and threatening to stab a 47-year-old man in Fremont last year.

Three men have been sentenced to prison in connection to an armed robbery in Fremont last year, according to the Fremont Police Department.

According to authorities, Jesus Mora, 20, of Oakland; Michael Bryant, 20, of Fremont; and Armando Sandoval, 20, of Oakland followed and robbed a 47-year-old man near the intersection of Irvington Avenue and Fremont Boulevard as he was leaving work on his bicycle on July 2, 2012. Two of the suspects exited a black Chevrolet Silverado, rushed the victim and threatened to stab him if he didn’t hand over his cash and cell phone. 

Fremont investigators worked with the Milpitas Police Department to identify and track down the suspects.

Mora, who was released from prison just two weeks before the robbery, was later arrested by the Fremont Police Department’s SWAT Team. Bryant, who had a felony warrant from a Hayward home burglary, was arrested by officers in San Jose and Sandoval in Hayward.

All three pleaded no contest to charges relating to the armed robbery.

Bryant was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in the Fremont robbery on Oct. 15, 2013; Sandoval was sentenced to five months on Oct. 29, 2013; and Mora was sentenced to eight years on Nov. 13.
