Tree Removal Along Niles Canyon Road Will Cause Traffic Delays

Caltrans says that traffic will be down to one lane at times, with delays up to 15 minutes.

FREMONT, CA — Caltrans will be performing tree removal along state Highway 84 between now and the spring of 2021 as part of the Niles Canyon Safety Project, according to a Caltrans spokesperson.

The tree removal is also necessary to accommodate construction of the Alameda Creek Bridge Replacement Project on Highway 84, beginning in the spring of 2021.

Highway 84 is also known as Niles Canyon Road between Mission Boulevard in Fremont and Pleasanton-Sunol Road in Sunol. From there and east to Interstate 680, the highway is known as Paloma Way.
