Vigil to be Held Saturday for Fremont Teen Killed in SUV Crash

Jason Park, 17, was killed Oct. 27 after an SUV he was riding in struck a tree. The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

Friends and local parent groups will hold a candlelight vigil Saturday night in honor of a Fremont teen killed in an SUV crash two weeks ago, according to the Argus. 

Jason Park, 17, was killed Oct. 27 after an SUV he was riding in struck a tree near the intersection of Durham Road and Topaz Way. The driver, a 17-year-old Mission San Jose High School student, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

Jason, who was in independent study at the time of the accident, was involved in his church and was popular at Irvington and Mission San Jose high schools, according to the Argus.

The vigil will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Central Park Performance Pavilion near Lake Elizabeth.
