**Warning** Con Artists targeting Fremont residents!!!!!

FREMONT, CA — I am the manager at Pacific Precious metals here in Fremont and we have seen a rash of clients coming to us who have been the victim of an old con. The way the con works is as follows so please be wary-

Driver will see a vehicle pulled to the side of the road or parked off to the side of a gas station, often with a family in distress, pulls over to assist. The person or persons in distress state they just need a few bucks to get by but all they have is amazingly these gold chains and rings. These are thick material and look as if they would be valuable. Driver gives con artist all their cash and then some, for they feel they are getting a great deal. However when they go to sell the
gold they learn its simply gold plated copper.

In the last 10 days we have seen no less than 6- good Samaritans who had excellent intentions, be the victim of these con artists and it breaks our hearts as the world needs kind people and this con ensures that those kind people will likely never help anyone again. I do hope I am wrong there. This warning does not mean you should stop helping those in need as long as you can do so safely, rather to raise awareness and hopefully prevent further loses by those with big hearts.

We have made Fremont pd aware but this is a hard crime to spot as it has to be in progress and observed by an officer. Hoping awareness will reduce the cons success rate and push the con-artists to leave the area. Lastly if you have fallen prey to this con please contact Fremont Pd so they can take the problem seriously, most victims feel embarrassed and thus have failed to notify Fpd about the issue.

TL/DR- Beware of those offering trade of bulky fake gold on roadside for cash--ITS FAKE !!!
