Woman Robbed of Gold Necklace in Ardenwood Neighborhood
Police advise community members to keep jewelry concealed while walking in public.

Fremont police are advising residents to conceal their jewelry while walking in public after another gold necklace was snatched Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Fremont Police Department, a woman was robbed of her necklace just before 1:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of Wellman Terrace in the Ardenwood area.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male adult in his 20s, about 6-feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and jeans. The suspect jumped a nearby fence and was last seen walking northbound on Deep Creek Rd.

Officers responded to the area but could not locate the suspect.
Police said the robbery appears to be an isolated case. However, because gold necklace robberies are not uncommon, authorities remind community members to be vigilant and to tell their families and friends about these types of crimes.

“To protect yourself from becoming a victim, we recommend that community members not wear gold chains that are exposed while out walking the neighborhood for your own safety,” Fremont police said in a media release.
