Climbers Die After Yosemite National Park Fall
The climbers died while on the Freeblast Route on El Capitan.

MARIPOSA COUNTY, CA -- Two men died Saturday morning after falling while hiking at Yosemite National Park. The climbers fell while on the Freeblast Route on El Capitan.
The climbers were identified as Jason Wells, age 46, of Boulder, Colorado and Tim Klien, age 42, from Palmdale, according to the National Parks Service.
Just last month, a New York man fell to his death while climbing the cables at Half Dome. His was the death was the first for the park in 2018 and the first fatality from the cables since San Ramon resident Hayley LaFlamme died in 2011.
