Off-Duty California Cop Kills Man In Road Rage Incident

The unidentified officer reportedly got in an argument with Ricardo Cisneros Piceno, who witnesses said was acting erratically.

FRESNO, CA -- An off-duty Orange Cove officer shot and killed a man during a road rage incident, Fresno County Sheriff's officials said. The incident began shortly before 8 p.m. May 31 when deputies received a report of a road rage incident between Ricardo Cisneros Piceno, 39, of Reedley, and other motorists.

Piceno was then seen driving away when the off-duty police officer saw him. The officer pulled to the side of the road to let Piceno pass, but Piceno stopped his car alongside the officer near the intersection of South Monson and East Floral avenues, and initiated an argument with the officer, sheriff's officials said.

The situation escalated and the officer fired several rounds from his handgun at Piceno’s car. Piceno was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died, officials said.
